Two parts, one complete offer

Learn what a top-grade NEA needs. Then get feedback on yours.

The teaching and the feedback are connected. Students learn what an independent investigation needs, then Freya reviews the student's own NEA privately the same day.

PART 01

A one-hour live NEA masterclass

Covers what a top-grade independent investigation needs, taught by Freya with real examples.

  • A strong title and hypothesis
  • Sound methodology
  • Effective data presentation
  • Real analysis rather than description
  • A critical evaluation
PART 02

A private 30-minute 1-1 with Freya

Freya goes through the student's own NEA — whatever stage it's at — against the assessment criteria, with specific, actionable feedback.

  • What's working in the NEA as it stands
  • What to change in each section
  • How to lift the work against the assessment criteria
  • Specific next steps, not general encouragement

How the day runs

One masterclass. Then private 1-1s.

01

Masterclass

11:00am to 12:00pm, live online

Freya teaches what separates a top-grade NEA from an average one — title and hypothesis, methodology, data presentation, analysis and evaluation — with real examples.

02

Break

12:00 to 12:30pm

Students use this time to have their own NEA ready — whatever stage it's at — for the 1-1.

03

Private 1-1s

30 minutes per student, from 12:30pm

Freya goes through the student's own investigation, says what's working, what to change, and how to lift each section against the assessment criteria. With up to 10 students, the 1-1s run back to back from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.

The student leaves with specific changes to make to their NEA, not just general encouragement.

Who it's for

Students working on their independent investigation.

For A-Level Geography students working on their NEA, on any exam board. Every board's NEA follows the same core structure and criteria, so this isn't board-specific the way the exam-essay masterclasses are.

Who leads it

Freya runs this session herself.

The masterclass and every private 1-1 are led by Freya Ruparel, founder of Olympus Geography.

Freya Ruparel, founder of Olympus Geography

Founder

Freya Ruparel

Cambridge Geography graduate. Bronze medallist for Team UK at the International Geography Olympiad. Eight years specialising in Geography tutoring, with more than 500 students supported. Freya runs this session herself — the feedback she gives is her own expert feedback against the assessment criteria.

What that means

One tutor, every student.

Freya teaches the masterclass and then takes every private 1-1 personally, so the advice in each 1-1 builds directly on what was taught that morning. She is not acting as an examiner for this session.
